This Sport Centre was developed to extend an already thriving local sports club Doora Barefield along with a growing community. The site already contained an 1980s changing facilities and sports grounds, however the Clients design brief was to develop an indoor basket ball/soccer hall with associated changing rooms, meeting rooms, receptions area and canteen. Furthermore, the grounds surrounding the new facility was too to be enhanced with additional pitches along with astro turf courts and extended car parking.

The design approach was to express the building forms into their relevant functions, while communicating with existing 1980s complex onsite. The material choices were to be simple but expressive giving the building a modern aesthetic while maintaining its modesty.
